About Kitchen Windows
The name "Kitchen Windows" refers to the surf spot to the right of the restaurant.
Jeffrey's Bay has always been one of the best fishing areas in South Africa.
The fishermen used to refer to the area now called Kitchen Windows as Little Reef.
It became a popular surf spot during the 60's and the spot became known as Kitchen Windows as the surfers of the time looked through their kitchen window to see if the surf was firing.
We are a family-friendly restaurant and believe in family values, good wine and even better food.
We invite you to come and share this experience with us.
We have a grassy lawn to play on in front of the restaurant and kids activity packs available, so please bring the family along.
Food
We believe that food should be enjoyed as it was intended. Fresh, healthy, wholesome and rich in nutrients, not full of hormones, antibiotics and/or unnatural additives.
Fortunately there are farmers who share our philosophy and we are able to serve uncontaminated food, free of all these by-products. We try to use organically grown foods where we can.
Nothing on the menu is prepared in bulk or ready-made. Everything is made on order.
We serve a variety of fresh seafood, matured-steaks, pizza, tapas, vegetarian options, etc.
A children's menu is also available for our younger customers under 12yrs of age.
Weddings & Functions
We cater for weddings & functions up to 80 persons. Weddings on the beach are very popular or on the lawn in front of the restaurant. We would love to assist you with the arrangements and have a few set menus as suggestions. These are just guidelines and from this we will draw up a personalised menu to suit your needs and budget.
We charge a set fee of R75,000 for the day. This rate includes the following:
- Use of the venue for the full day
- Food (up to max. of 80 guests)
Choice of one starter, one main course & one dessert per person. (Excluding crayfish, oysters & langoustines.)
- Welcome drinks
- Gratuity for the staff
Terms & Conditions apply. No weddings during the Winterfest in July, Easter or the December holidays.
For smaller functions, please share some of your expectations and ideas and we will come up with a suitable menu that is sure to impress your guests.
Self-catering holiday apartments are situated right behind or next to the restaurant as well as guesthouses and backpackers in walking distance.
