The annual Vaal Wine Route is back this year and Emerald Resort & Casino’s High Stakes restaurant will be featuring Darling Cellars wines from 5 June to 1 August 2021, over weekends and public holidays from 12h00 to 18h00.
The nine-week Vaal River Meander Wine Route, celebrating its 18th year, is a very well-priced wine treat to beat the winter blues at various venues on or around the banks of the Vaal River. Emerald Resort & Casino has always been a part of the Vaal Wine Route and this year is no different.
“High Stakes will be featuring a range of eight different Darling Cellar wines for tasting over the Wine Route period ranging from the golden 2018 MCC Demi Sec with its unique bouquet of green apples, pineapple, lemon and orange zest to the sweet Darling White, Rose and Red,” says Tanuja Gangabishun, Marketing Executive at Emerald Resort & Casino.
The Wine Route is perfect for wine lovers whether experts, connoisseurs, enthusiasts or amateurs. It is a relaxed and pleasant well-priced outing, where everyone can learn to appreciate exceptional South African wines. All eight Darling Cellar wines can be tasted at High Stakes at a cost of R50.00 per person.
Full Covid-19 safety protocol will be followed to ensure the safety of guests and staff at High Stakes. Wine tasting will be done at individual tables.
“We look forward to welcoming all wine lovers back to Emerald Resort & Casino,” concludes Tanuja. “Why not turn the tasting into a weekend experience? We are less than an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and all visitors have the option to extend their stay by spending a a couple of days along the Vaal River at Emerald Resort & Casino.”
