Carnival City’s spectacular entertainment offering is continually evolving to deliver more choices and cosmopolitan experiences for its guests. Movie lovers are now promised the ultimate cinema experience with the upgrade of the Ster-Kinekor cinemas at Carnival City. The refurbishment includes the addition of Cine Prestige Cinema as well as a dedicated Kids Cinema, one of only six in South Africa.

Cine Prestige is the luminary cinema offering, and epitomises film-viewing heaven and pure luxury rolled into one. The 60-seater Cine Prestige cinema offers an exclusive VIP Lounge area. Here, guests can enjoy being served delicious gourmet platters, a selection of fine wines from Fairview Estate, a variety of craft beers and ciders, imported coffees and decadent cakes.

All of this is addition to the mandatory soft drink or slush and Ster-Kinekor’s delicious freshly-popped popcorn, which can also be served to you at their cinema seats while watching the movie. The large red leather seats are fully-reclinable at the touch of a button and ooze lavish comfort. Each chair is fitted with a snack tray for the platters and refreshments.

The Kids Cinema offers children an exceptional experience, from a special waiting area where they are entertained with activities to an indoor slide inside the theatre. Seats are bright and bold to complete the experience.

In total, Ster-Kinekor Carnival City boasts six uber-comfortable movie theatres, three of which are 3D and the rest 2D. The largest theatre, being one of the 2D theatres, has 155 seats while the smallest, being the Cine Prestige Cinema, accommodating 60 people only. All of the theatres offer crisp and vivid picture quality, superior sound, and comfortable seating.
