All it takes, most of the time, is a touch of love - and some delicious food and wine - to make mom’s heart sing. Treat her to a relaxing day at Nederburg this Mother’s Day (Sunday, 12 May), and show her how some downtime with the family can reinvigorate the senses.

The Red Table restaurant, located in the historic manor house, will be dishing up a feast of full-blown flavour. Indulge in starters like lentil samoosas served with date chutney; green bean, avocado and bocconcini baby leaf salad topped with poached egg, toasted almonds and light lemon dressing; and slaphakskeentjie tarte tatin with chevin cream. Mains on offer include biltong-crusted beef fillet with potato boulangère, flashed garden vegetables and chimichurri sauce; pork belly with braised red cabbage and green apple with sweet potato croquettes; and grilled duck breast with carrot and potato puree, broccoli and apricot citrus jus; amongst other delicious à la carte menu options. Desserts will be utterly delectable - expect treats such as chocolate fondant served with vanilla ice cream, and baked cheesecake with berry compote. Whilst at Nederburg, don’t miss out on the fabulous sweet wines and confectionary pairing available at the Visitors’ Centre, a short walk away from the manor house. It features Nederburg’s multi award-winning The Winemasters Noble Late Harvest, with white chocolate nougat; the supremely food-friendly The Winemasters Special Late Harvest, with citrus and stone fruit infused fudge; and none other than The Beautiful Lady Gewürztraminer that forms part of Nederburg’s Heritage Heroes collection of fine wines, paired with rose and ginger flavoured Turkish delight. A variety of wine tastings; cheese and wine, ice cream and wine, and kids’ pairings; as well as snack boxes and cheese platters, are also available to enjoy at the Visitors’ Centre. Please enquire with staff regarding pricing.
