Market serves simple quality cuisine using locally and/or organically sourced ingredients in a professional, unique, and caring environment. Market is also known for its selection of award-winning South African wines, freshly squeezed fruit juices and coffee. The fine dining dinner food specials change regularly and provide the perfect catalyst for any occasion, whether it be your first date or a birthday celebration.

The courtyard has a central fountain surrounded by a ring of Leopard trees, which provide all year mottled shade and its peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor furniture and tables are modelled around 18th-century French garden furniture adding to Market’s allure. The restaurant’s indoor section is more modern minimalist while still providing the feeling of dining somewhere in Europe.

Our Up Market venue is a breath of fresh air. From it’s white wooden floors to exposed ceilings and a balcony with views that give you a glimpse Durbans city skyline, it’s the ideal venue for intimate events. 

Up Market is available to corporate, conferencing, weddings and parties and can seat 40 – 50 guests. For cocktails events it can accommodate up to 70 guests.

With its own kitchen and bathroom facilities it offers exclusivity, convenience and comfort to you and your guests. The venue is facilitated with a projector, screen, surround sound and is fully air conditioned.

Market Restaurant embodies seasonal freshness and innovation, meaning the menu can change between visits, but the quality and dedication to craft remains unequivocal. As a contemporary eatery, breakfast is served day-long and the waiters can provide information on gluten-free, vegan and banting options. Beyond the (varied and innovative) egg-and-bacon brigade, the calls for a lazy weekend brunches are vast.

Arousing memories of your grandmother’s kitchen, the cinnamon-spiced hotcakes arrive with fresh banana, crème fraîche and honey; while the French toast with seasonal fruit, honey and lavender hints at a summer break in Provence. The smoked salmon on sweet potato and quinoa cake topped with herbed cream cheese, red onions and crispy capers delights the senses for its luxurious indulgence. Else go for the perfect twice-baked butternut soufflé with caramelised onions, gorgonzola cream and bacon.
