Pakamisa Private Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal, is a private, exclusive reserve open to residential guests only. The lodge is majestically perched on the high plateau of the Pakamisa
Mountain with breath-taking views of the evergreen valleys and plains of the Pongola River to the east and the rolling hills of natural bush of the Reserve in the west.


The lodge has a limit of 16 guests. The unique Spanish architecture is blended with the finest African ambiance. Pakamisa offers a variety of dining experiences: enjoy sumptuous breakfasts in the bush; delicious alfresco lunches on the panoramic veranda; and an elegant formal 4 course dinner in the gracious El Prado restaurant.

The Reserve’s vast 2,500 hectare can be explored on horseback, in an open vehicle or on foot. Try a horse back safari, with its gentle pace and proximity to nature. This is a spectacular way to view game, and Pakamisa welcomes both beginners and advanced riders. Riding schedules are tailored to suit each group, starting from a beginner’s lesson of half an hour, to a daily ride of up to four hours, breaking for a romantic bush breakfast or picnic.
