Durban is about to welcome one of the world’s most fascinating attractions. The globally renowned Museum of Illusions will officially open its doors at Gateway Theatre of Shopping on Saturday, 25 April 2026, bringing its signature blend of science, art and immersive fun to KwaZulu-Natal.

Already a global phenomenon with locations in cities including Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, New York and Dubai, the Durban opening marks another milestone for the brand’s expansion in Africa. Life-size LEGO® Mercedes-AMG F1 car takes the fast lane on SA’s circuits

LEGO® South Africa has pulled off its most ambitious project to date, shipping a detailed, up-scaled LEGO® Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance build from Singapore to South Africa, marking the largest life-size LEGO build ever brought into the country.

Based on the 1642-piece LEGO set available in stores, the scaled-up LEGO® Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance build took a team of expert builders eight hours to assemble. Sandton City, Africa’s most iconic retail destination, has launched a mental health initiative titled “Words That Heal” in collaboration with the Riky Rick Foundation for the promotion of “artivism”. The campaign aims to open up conversations around mental health and encourage South Africans to share messages of hope and healing.


The Riky Rick Foundation was established to honour the life of the late rapper and to promote “artivism,” the intersection of artistic expression and activism. Through its work, the Foundation advocates for mental wellness, creativity and social awareness, particularly among South Africa’s youth.
