Nestled in the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains on South Africa's dramatic lesser-known west coast, our ecological oasis is a magical wilderness retreat among open plains, sandstone formations and ancient bush art sites dating back 10,000 years.

Be at one with Africa in our multi-award-winning haven (a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World), just three hours from Cape Town. Discover awe-inspiring activities, unique dining, ancient African culture, dramatic landscapes and outstanding nature experiences.

Bushmans Kloof offers a range of beautifully proportioned rooms, suites and a private villa. We can accommodate 34 guests, all in sublimely appointed spaces. Award-winning service, generous hospitality and luxurious finishes, such as our outstanding private art collection, enhance the extraordinary environment of the Bushmans Kloof lodge.

Koro Lodge is an existing farmhouse, nestled in the reserve, that has been completely renovated and transformed into a spectacular intimate villa, surrounded by open vistas of wilderness and wildlife, combining ultimate luxury with nature. Koro Lodge is available for larger groups, ensuring effortless and hugely enjoyable family breakaways for up to 10 guests.

The splendid luxury of our accommodation amidst botanical gardens and pristine wilderness will draw you into our special world, while small surprises and thoughtful touches throughout your stay augment the experience.

Here at Bushmans Kloof, we are well aware of our extraordinary environment, and are indebted to the land that sustains a plethora of plants and wildlife. We are also the proud partner of a number of local projects, including local farming communities, the Amy Biel Foundation and Elizabethfontein Primary School.

We are home to a rich array of indigenous wildlife within the Cederberg wilderness, including the rare and precious Cape Leopard. Along with The TreadRight Foundation, Cheetah Outreach and The Cape Leopard Trust, we have purchased three Anatolian Shepherd dogs to act as livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) and safeguard these Cape Leopards. In addition, we are also the proud owner of one of the world’s largest privately owned herds of Cape Mountain Zebras, and we are wholeheartedly committed to the protection of this beautiful animal.

Bushmans Kloof is a member of National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, recognising our dedication to preserving our planet’s natural and cultural heritage. We serve as a steward for more than 130 cave sites painted by the indigenous San people, actively working to ensure that these expressive murals will tell the story of the land’s original inhabitants for generations to come. These preservation efforts have helped the Rock Art earn distinction as a South African National Heritage Site.

Together with The TreadRight Foundation and The Travel Corporation family of brands, we hope to leave a positive impact on local people, wildlife and the planet to #maketravelmatter.  -  Photos Credit - Martin Reed / Bushmans Kloof
